Currently touring the United States, this version of FIREBIRD was reconstructed at the invitation of MASS MoCA, using American car parts from local scrapyards. By rebuilding the work with locally sourced materials, the installation responds to its geographical and cultural context, while retaining its core narrative of renewal and reinvention.
FIREBIRD has already lit up the deserts of Utah, the coast of California, and the skyline of New York City; traveled along the Hudson River to Albany; captured the hearts of Dartmouth University and captivated crowds at Bentonville’s Momentous Festival.
“Definitely one of the most unique events you’ll see this year.”
